A torn anterior cruciate ligament changed the course of Ka’leel Stillman’s recruitment, opening the door for an unlikely destination.
The 6-foot-10 center signed with the University of Toledo after his AAU coach recommended Stillman to Tod Kowalczyk. It was an unusual, whirlwind recruitment, with UT’s coaching staff only watching him play on film.
“He’s 6-10. He’s long. He’s athletic,” Kowalczyk said. “I think he has a chance to be really good. He’s a guy that we’ve heard a lot of good things about. We love the family, love the situation. He’s a hardworking kid that wants to be good and wants to be coached and is willing to redshirt if he has to.
