Rodney Johnson, Jr., is the University of Toledo men’s basketball team’s second transfer addition of the offseason.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound forward averaged 13.0 points and 5.8 rebounds at Tennessee Tech last season. He has one year of eligibility left.
Johnson was Tennessee Tech’s second-leading scorer in 2024-25, shooting 51 percent from the field and 40 percent (33 of 82) from 3-point range. He played 25.7 minutes per game. In 2023-24, the Bryan, Texas, native averaged 10.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocked shot in 26.8 minutes.
“Rodney is a very physical forward, and the analytics were really good with him,” UT coach Tod Kowalczyk said.
