HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — After an 18-point halftime lead for the University of Toledo men’s basketball team vanished Saturday against Marshall, Rockets senior guard Jaelan Sanford gave the team second life with a 3-pointer to send the game to overtime.
Marreon Jackson then made a jumper with three seconds left in the extra session to give Toledo a 75-74 win, its seventh consecutive victory.
On the ensuing possession for Marshall, Toledo’s Willie Jackson stole the inbounds pass to secure the Rockets ninth win of the season.
“This was a big win for us on the road against a very good team,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said.
