STARKVILLE, Miss. — M-A-C. M-A-C. M-A-C.
On a Saturday night for the ages, Toledo invaded SEC country and delivered the Mid-American Conference’s second landmark win in as many weeks, with a 41-17 evisceration of Mississippi State.
And it could have been worse.
The heartbreaking near misses at Notre Dame and Illinois were laid to rest by Tucker Gleason, Dan Bolden, and an authoritative defensive line.
Gleason completed 23 of 28 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns, adding 37 yards on the ground.
UT had six tackles for loss, including five sacks, led by Bolden’s 1½ sacks.
