EAST LANSING, Mich. – Toledo tied the game and took a lead in extra innings vs. Michigan State in East Lansing on Wednesday, but ultimately fell to the Spartans, 5-4, in 11 innings.
The Rockets trailed 3-1 but tied the game in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by freshman Kendra VanderLugt and an RBI single by senior Bri Robeson. The score remained knotted at 3-3 until senior Aubrey Reed hit a leadoff home run in the eighth, her third of the seaosn. MSU tied the game in the bottom of the eighth on a home run of its own, then won it in the 11th with a walk-off single.
