University of Toledo men’s basketball coach Tod Kowalczyk stopped short of calling the Rockets loss to Ball State a wakeup call.
Toledo saw its 10-game winning streak snapped in a 79-64 home defeat to the Cardinals in its Mid-American Conference opener last Friday.
“I think what it was was a refocus call,” Kowalczyk said. “We didn’t play well at either end of the floor. I thought our offense was the worst it’s been all year to start that game. In the first four minutes, we had four turnovers and one really bad shot. That set the tone and we allowed our offense to dictate our energy level, which has not happened with this team.
