TOLEDO, Ohio – Fresh off a dominating performance in their home opener, the Toledo Rockets return to the Glass Bowl this Saturday, Sept. 16 (7:00 p.m./ESPN+) to face an explosive San Jose State team that is also coming off an impressive showing.
Toledo (1-1) smothered Texas Southern 71-3 on Saturday at about the same time that Spartans (1-2) was dispatching with Cal Poly, 59-3. Combined, the Rockets and the Spartans clobbered their opponents by a score of 130-6, setting up a potential offensive fireworks display at the Glass Bowl this Saturday.
In Toledo's victory, junior quarterback Dequan Finn completed 16-of-17 passes for 238 yards and three scores, while junior running back Peny Boone rushed for three touchdowns as Toledo scored in all seven of its possessions in the first half.
