SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — When Brian Jones arrived at Detroit Metro Airport on Saturday, it felt like he had 13 sons in tow.
Jones, the Toledo men’s basketball team’s long-time head athletic trainer, plans all travel, which means he’s in charge of tickets, per diem, and transportation to and from the airport. And like any good dad, he doesn’t want his kids spending their money all in one place.
“If you blow it all in two days, you’re not going to eat,” he said, matter-of-factly.
The amateur travel agent takes his role so seriously that his by-the-minute organization creeps into his family vacations.
