Following the University of Toledo’s 63-44 win over Nevada on Saturday, Rockets coach Jason Candle said he felt like it was the first game of the season, in a way.
With a runaway win over Virginia Military Institute and a loss to No. 21 Miami (Fla.), Toledo saw both of the extremes in its first two games, facing an FCS foe then a ranked team.
“How our schedule is set up early in the season like this and the way we’ve been able to start, in a lot of ways to me today seemed like our first game,” Candle said after the Nevada game.
