With a driving rain and wet conditions on the field, the University of Toledo football team was forced to dig deep on Saturday against Eastern Michigan at the Glass Bowl.
After letting a 21-point fourth quarter lead slip away, Toledo survived a late field goal attempt from the Eagles and won 37-34 in overtime.
Following two consecutive road losses, Toledo coach Jason Candle said the conditions provided a chance for the Rockets to band together and find that extra gear.
“Our game Saturday was exactly how we'd want it,” Candle said. “We had to generate our own energy.
