Putting stock in recruiting rankings eight months out from signing day is risky business.
But that doesn’t diminish what the University of Toledo is doing this spring.
From March 25 to April 10 — a 17-day span — the Rockets received commitments from seven players, part of a nine-man class that currently ranks 53rd nationally, according to Rivals, ahead of USC, UCLA, TCU, Utah, Washington, Stanford, West Virginia, Illinois, Mississippi State, and Kentucky.
“I don’t think there’s time for celebration until December,” UT recruiting director Ricky Ciccone said.
