Jason Candle, entering his fifth full year as the University of Toledo’s head football coach and his 12th year in the program overall, knows better than most the parity that exists in the Mid-American Conference.
It was one of the first things he acknowledged early in the preseason, standing at a podium in front of a group of socially-distanced reporters in the team room.
“We play in a competitive league,” Candle said. “This isn't something I'm not used to. We know that each and every week if you don't bring your A game, you're just going to get beat.
