TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday with a 1-0 setback against Illinois at Paul Hotmer Field. It wasn't until the 78th minute that the lone goal was scored, proving to be the difference.
"I'm proud of our girls," Head Coach TJ Buchholz said. "This was a strong Big Ten team in Illinois and you have to make plays. Credit to Illinois, they capitalized on their opportunity and made a play. We had our chances and we have to put those away. Our defense was awesome. It was definitely a team effort and we received a lot of contributions.
