FORT MYERS, Fla. – The University of Toledo women's tennis team opened its 2022 season at the Florida Gulf Coast Weekend Kickoff Friday, falling to the host Eagles 5-2.
"We are fortunate enough to be able to get this kind of competition outside so early in the year," head coach said. "FGCU is a great team and played well."
In doubles play, Toledo's duo of sophomore and junior defeated their FGCU opponents on the No. 1 court. However, FGCU won on both courts No. 2 and 3 capturing the doubles point.
Alcala and Teske also won on the singles courts.
