Defense and rebounding were emphasized in the couple of days after Toledo’s loss Tuesday to Ball State.
If Friday’s 102-74 win over Western Michigan was any indication, the Rockets acted upon Tod Kowalczyk’s requests.
“It was a great way to respond,” the UT coach said. “Our defensive intensity and our togetherness were back to normal. It wasn’t normal on Tuesday, and that’s on us, that’s on me.”
Toledo lost 90-83 on Tuesday to Ball State, which shot 50 percent from the field and 3-point range.
The Rockets looked more like the two-time defending Mid-American Conference champions on Friday.
