TOLEDO, Ohio – In a battle that came down to the last singles match, the Toledo women's tennis team defeated Ball State, 4-3, at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts on Sunday. The win clinched a spot for the Rockets in the Mid-American Conference Tournament for the fourth-consecutive season.
Sophomore clinched match point for the Rockets after winning an almost three-hour, three-set match, 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 6-4 on the No. 4 singles court. Her victory marked the second consecutive match in which Ibanez clinched match point for Toledo.
Toledo (13-6, 6-3 MAC) started the match by winning the doubles point.
