Oxford, Ohio— The Toledo baseball team dropped its series opener to Miami on Friday night, 8-7. The Rockets were felled by a walk-off RBI single in the ninth inning.
Trailing for the entire game, UT stormed back to score five runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 7-6 lead. After three consecutive singles to lead off the frame, the Rockets' offense drove in runs in five straight at-bats to jump ahead of the RedHawks. In the bottom half of the inning, though, Miami tied the game at 7-7 and then Parker Massman's single up the middle in the bottom of the ninth drove in the game-winning run.
