PHILADELPHIA, PA - Saint Joseph's pulled away in the final two minutes to send Toledo to a 77-76 defeat in its opening game of the 2016-17 campaign. The contest was played before a sellout crowd of 4,200 fans in Hagan Arena.
Senior guard Jonathan Williams led Toledo in scoring with 16 points. He was joined in double figures by senior forward Steve Taylor Jr. and junior guard Daniel Dzierzawski who tallied 16 and 11 points, respectively, in their Rocket debuts.
In the rebounding department, sophomore forward Nate Navigato (eight) and Taylor (seven) helped UT hold a 38-32 advantage on the boards.
