BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Toledo softball team lost a pair of contests on Friday in the opening day of the Blazer Classic in Birmingham, Ala. The Rockets (2-5) ended up on the short end of a 13-2 (5 inn.) decision to Murray State in the opening game and an 8-0 (5 inn.) final to host UAB.
In the morning contest, Murray State took a 6-0 lead thanks to a five-run second inning. Toledo made it 6-1 on an RBI single by Macey Moore in the bottom of the second but the Racers scored three more runs in both the third and fourth innings to extend their lead to 12-1.
