MUNCIE, Ind. – Toledo put forth a spirited effort against Ball State on Wednesday in Worthen Arena. Unfortunately for the Rockets, they came up a little short, dropping a 66-60 decision. With the loss, Toledo falls to 11-15 overall, 6-9 in the Mid-American Conference.
Junior Tanaya Beacham paced the Midnight Blue & Gold with 20 points, scoring in double figures for season-high fourth-straight game. Beacham shot 9-of-15 from the field and 2-of-3 from the charity stripe to reach the 20-point mark for the second time in the last three games.
Freshman Quinesha Lockett added 15 points and senior Mariella Santucci nearly posted the second triple-double in program history, finishing with six points, a career-tying best 11 rebounds and a game-high eight assists.
