TAMPA, Fla. - It took 13 innings to decided a winner, but the Rockets were ultimately downed by South Florida, 4-3, on Friday night at the USF Baseball Stadium.
The Rockets' (1-8) pitching staff worked its way through trouble in the middle innings and posted eight scoreless frames from the fifth inning through the 12th. In the 13th inning, USF was able to load the bases and score the winning run on a bases-loaded walk.
UT senior starting pitcher Steven Calhoun allowed a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to put the Bulls ahead early.
