Last week after a win over BYU, Toledo defensive end Desjuan Johnson talked at the podium during the postgame press conference about the effort that has come to define the defense so far this year.
Then, in one of the biggest moments of Saturday's 31-24 win over Western Michigan, Toledo coach Jason Candle couldn’t help but notice Johnson and fellow defensive end Terrance Taylor dancing and getting the crowd into it on a fourth down and long for the Broncos late in the fourth quarter.
Candle said he appreciates the pure joy that Johnson and Taylor showed in a crucial situation, and is comforted by the fact that he knows they have put in the necessary work to be able to focus once it is time to do so.
