NORTON, Ohio — It was a momentous day for the University of Toledo men’s and women’s cross country teams on Friday.
Mercy Kinyanjui won the individual title, helping the UT women to a third-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes regional individual championship.
Freshman Dominic Serem became Toledo’s first-ever men’s individual qualifier to the NCAA cross country national championship.
“Today we had ourselves a day,” head coach Andrea Grove-McDonough said in a news release. “This season we continue to rewrite the history books on both the men’s and women’s side — our first individual men’s NCAA qualifier in program history and our highest-ever women's finish.
