SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The University of Toledo baseball team lost its series finale at USC Upstate on Sunday, 7-6.
The Rockets took an early lead thanks to a three-run home run from in the top of the first, but the Spartans answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning, added to its lead with two more runs in the second. Toledo chipped away at its deficit in the sixth and seventh, and double in the top of the ninth put the tying run in scoring position. The Rockets were unable to bring him home though, with Upstate's Kevin Davis striking out the next two batters to end the game.
