The University of Toledo opened one more present before the holidays: a ninth consecutive win.
The Rockets (11-1) added another pearl on their growing résumé Wednesday with an 86-70 victory over Cornell (5-6) at Savage Arena. UT is in the midst of its longest winning streak since opening the 2013-14 season with 12 straight victories.
“We’re very confident,” said UT senior guard Jaelan Sanford, who had a game-high 29 points. “We’re going into every game expecting to win. We’ve been sticking to our game plan, sticking to our scouting, and sticking to defense. I know they jumped out to an early lead on us, but we got our grit back and got the win.
