Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell picked up his third All-American honor on Monday, as the sophomore was named an Associated Press third-team All-American.
Mitchell is the first Toledo player to be named an AP All-American since punter Brett Kern in 2007.
Mitchell was previously named a Walter Camp second-team All-American and Pro Football Focus second-team All-American. He leads the nation with 25 passes defended. He has five interceptions this season, with four coming against Northern Illinois, which earned Mitchell national defensive player of the week honors.
When he was last seen, Mitchell had three pass breakups against Ohio in UT’s victory in the Mid-American Conference championship game.
