TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo baseball won its third straight one-run game on Sunday, a 5-4 decision over Kent State to clinch the weekend series over the Golden Flashes.
Following this weekend's series against Kent State, Toledo is now 18-17 overall and 12-11 in Mid-American Conference play and sits in third place in the conference standings.
The Rockets trailed 4-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth, but a couple clutch two-out hits by sophomores and tied the game at 4-4. In the next inning, senior pinch-hit single with two outs brought in the go-ahead run and McAninch shut the Golden Flashes down in the final innings to end the game.
