CLEVELAND — With the University of Toledo basketball teams seemingly hitting their stride at the most important time of the year, they will have to abruptly pull the plug on thoughts of any potential postseason glory as the Mid-American Conference canceled the men's and women's basketball tournament on Thursday amid fears of the spread of COVID-19.
The Toledo men were set for a quarterfinal game against rival Bowling Green on Thursday night and the Toledo women, who knocked off No. 1 seed Central Michigan on Wednesday, were set for a semifinal game against Ohio on Friday.
