The University of Toledo baseball team’s Mid-American Conference tournament hopes came to an end on Friday with a 6-5 loss to Central Michigan at Sprenger Stadium in Avon.
For the second time in the tournament, the Rockets played the Chippewas tight, but once again fell short.
Toledo fell behind 6-3, but a two-run home run by Trace Hatfield in the sixth made the score 6-5. The Rockets threatened in the ninth as they loaded the bases with two outs, but Brad Boss grounded out to end the game.
Ross Adolph also had a two-run homer for Toledo.
