In a game worthy of the month of March, the University of Toledo and Cleveland State entertained a Savage Arena crowd of 1,877 for 40 minutes on Thursday.
It didn’t take long to find out if there would be a Mid-American Conference tournament hangover for the Rockets.
The answer was a resounding no, with a 76-68 win over Cleveland State in the first round of the WBIT serving as just one bit of proof.
“We were upset, but I don’t think we’re a dissatisfied team whatsoever,” Toledo point guard Sophia Wiard said. “We’re going to come out hungry regardless.
