Having held its scrimmage Friday night at the Glass Bowl, the University of Toledo football team has completed its spring season.
Here are three takeaways:
1. New receivers have emerged after the loss of last season’s top three performers
In the spring scrimmage, quarterback Eli Peters connected with Darius Corbett on two deep passes. Corbett unofficially had four catches for 82 yards.
Two of the main returners from last season are Desmond Phillips and Danzel McKinley-Lewis. They both have played in the slot for most of their careers at Toledo but will have a chance to make some plays on the outside this season.
