Toledo, Ohio – Three athletes from the University of Toledo track and field team were named Distinguished Scholar Athletes for the indoor season by the Mid-American Conference on Wednesday.
Senior Janelle Noe, junior Atalia Lima and junior Athena Welsh were awarded the honor for their efforts on the track and in the classroom during the indoor track and field season. This is the second consecutive year Noe has received the honor.
Lima became the Rockets' first pentathlon champion at the MAC Championships, scoring 3542 points. Welsh and Noe led the Rockets in distance and mid-distance events during the season.
