NORMAL, Ill. - Former Toledo baseball left-handed pitcher Steve Calhoun has signed a independent league contract with the Normal CornBelters in the Frontier League, head coach Cory Mee announced on Thursday.
Calhoun pitched for the Rockets from 2014-17 and won 17 games on the mound for the Midnight Blue & Gold.
The Tipp City, Ohio native wrapped up his collegiate career with the second-most innings pitched (325.0) and the fourth-most strikeouts (230) in program history.
The 12-team Frontier League is in its 25th year of existence with each squad playing a 96-game regular season from May-September.
