Footballs flew through the air and the echo of whistles could be heard in the Fetterman Training Center on Monday and Tuesday.
If spring is in the air, it means football is back on the calendar.
“You can drag a rope around, you can fight over a tire, you can touch cones, and run through lines and all that,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said. “And that has a serious place in the development of your team and your program. But nothing stresses communication like real 11-on-11 football. That stuff can’t be simulated as skill development.”
The Rockets will conduct 15 practices, culminating with the spring game at the Glass Bowl on April 9.
