An examination of the box score from Tuesday’s MACtion game between Toledo and Buffalo reveals balanced, if not underwhelming, offense and perhaps a UT loss.
Buffalo had more first downs, a better third-down conversion rate, and two more takeaways. Toledo’s four turnovers were an albatross. But Stanton Weber and special teams were there to save the day.
It started with a 97-yard opening kickoff return by Jacquez Stuart, a bolt of lightning on a frigid, snowy Halloween night, the first strokes of a special teams masterpiece.
“It set the tone for the game,” Stuart said about UT’s 31-13 victory.
