TOLEDO, Ohio – Sophomore guard Sonny Wilson has been named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career after averaging 21.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 4.5 apg and shooting 66.7 percent from the field to lead the Toledo men's basketball team to two victories last week.
Wilson opened his week on Wednesday by tying his career high with 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting and eight rebounds in an 86-77 win over Wright State in the Rockets' home opener. He then poured in a career-high 22 points and tied his career high with six assists in UT's 82-67 road win at Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
