OXFORD, Ohio — Toledo is halfway to a Mid-American Conference championship.
The Rockets, 9-1 in the MAC midway through the season, traveled to the inhospitable Millett Hall Tuesday night and turned away the Miami RedHawks with a 90-81 victory.
The offensive explosion was a 40-minute tour de force by UT, a blend of opportunity, efficiency, and tenacity. The Rockets shot 57.9 percent from the field, made 11 of 23 attempts from 3-point range, and missed two free throws, ending Miami’s three-game win streak in emphatic fashion.
UT’s combination of orderly guard play, athleticism, and productivity was on full display.
