LAS VEGAS — Former Toledo men’s basketball players Seth Millner and JT Shumate don’t pretend they expected to hear their names called last month at the 2023 NBA Draft, which would have allowed them to follow in the footsteps of 2022 UT draftee Ryan Rollins.
But despite not landing with a team immediately, both players find themselves competing for a longshot chance at an NBA roster spot in the Las Vegas desert. Millner, 23, and Shumate, 24, both signed exhibit-10 non-guaranteed deals to play in the NBA 2K24 Summer League and are enjoying the basketball world’s biggest spotlight.
