Toledo-Western Michigan is a competitive series with a history of close games.
In the past decade, the Rockets lead 6-4. Last year was one of the losses, an ugly late November game that was a 60-minute slog.
"These guys kicked out tail last year," Toledo coach Jason Candle said.
The score was 20-14, but it wasn't that close. Injuries didn't help matters, but UT was out of sorts most of the game. It didn't matter for Tim Lester, though, as the former Western coach was fired the next week.
In comes former Louisville offensive coordinator Lance Taylor, who played collegiately at Alabama and served as a graduate assistant under Nick Saban.
