Toledo and Kent State don't play often — the Ohio schools have only met four times in the past 10 years — but when they face off Saturday at the Glass Bowl, it will be a game with Mid-American Conference implications.
The Rockets are atop the West, while the Golden Flashes, with one loss, face must-win games the rest of the season to repeat as the MAC East champion. Coach Sean Lewis has changed the psyche around the program, as Kent State is 15-7 in the MAC since 2019.
It should be noted, though, that only three of those wins have come against teams with a winning record, and the Flashes' 3-1 pandemic-season record came against teams that were a combined 3-14.
