Ryan Rollins' rookie season ends prematurely, but former Rocket is happy with progress

It didn’t take long for Ryan Rollins to have his “Welcome to the NBA” moment.

At the NBA Summer League, Steph Curry greeted the former Toledo Rocket, “What’s up, Ryan? It’s good to have you on the team.”

A few weeks earlier, Rollins was a mostly anonymous mid-major college basketball player. Sure, NBA scouts were a regular presence at Toledo games, and Rollins’ name was sprinkled all over mock drafts. But he was still just an unassuming college student who happened to be immensely talented at basketball.

Then Steve Kerr — watching from an elliptical between games in the NBA Finals — became intrigued as he saw Rollins work out at the Warriors facility.
