HAMILTON, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team concluded play at the Mid-American Conference Individual Fall Championships at the Riverside Athletic Club in Hamilton, Ohio on Sunday.
Freshman Jacklynka Scholten earned her first wins over conference opponents on her way to the semifinals of the singles draw. Scholten defeated Western Michigan's Lola Glantz and Bowling Green's Tia Clemens in straight sets en route to being the lone freshman left in the event. The Arlington, Va. native fell to eventual champion Catherine Denysiewicz from Miami in the semifinal round.
Sophomore Gaby Rondon took down Audrey Smitek from Western Michigan in the first round before dropping a straight-set match to Ball State's Annika Planinsek in the second round.
