KENT, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team opened its weekend series at Kent State on Friday with a 7-6 victory.
The Rockets (13-11, 6-4 MAC) scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the first and never trailed for the rest of the evening. The Golden Flashes (16-9, 4-3 MAC) did tie the game in the bottom of the fifth, but UT scored the eventual winning run in the top of the seventh and the bullpen held firm in the final innings.
Toledo and Kent State will not play on Saturday due to inclement weather expected in the area.
