AKRON, Ohio – The Toledo softball team split a doubleheader at Akron on Saturday, taking a 6-2 victory in the opener before falling 2-1 in the 10-inning nightcap.
Junior (3-5) went the distance in both games, striking out nine batters and allowing 12 hits in 16.1 innings pitched. In the opener, she gave up five hits and struck out six in seven innings of work. She had a two-hit shutout going and a 6-0 lead when Akron scored two runs off three hits in the bottom of the fifth. But Graham put the Zips down in order in the sixth and worked out of a jam in the final frame to give UT the 6-2 victory.
