ELON, N.C. – The Toledo baseball team wrapped up its weekend at Elon with a 3-1 loss to the Phoenix on Sunday.
The Rockets allowed two runs in the bottom of the first and were unable to produce much offensively against Elon's strong pitching.
"I have to give credit to their starting pitcher," head coach Rob Reinstetle said. "He threw a good game and kept our offense off-balance with a variety of off-speed pitches, even when we had opportunities to score. That elusive two-out hit never came and we couldn't push anything across. We come home 5-6 and having played some good baseball and some bad baseball these first three weeks.
