DETROIT - Led by a hat trick by freshman , the Toledo women's soccer team (3-5-0) came out victorious in a heated match with Detroit Mercy (2-6-0) Sunday night in Detroit.
After a scoreless first half that saw minimal opportunities for both teams, Currie took control of the game in the 59th minute, grabbing a loose ball at the top of the 18 and burying it into the back of the net. Currie added another one just 11 minutes later when she took a long shot from outside of the box and put it into the upper 90.
