In a matter of minutes, the University of Toledo women’s basketball team turned a close game into a blowout and a slow start into a three-game winning streak.
The Rockets beat Cleveland State 66-53 on Saturday at Savage Arena for their first home win of the season, and did so on the strength of a 19-0 second-half run that essentially put away the game.
Senior guard Ana Capotosto set career highs with 22 points and six 3-pointers, and added 10 rebounds for her second career double-double. Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott chipped in a season-high 19 points, and Janice Monakana scored all 11 of her points after halftime.
