OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Toledo baseball team split its Saturday doubleheader at Miami, winning the second game 4-3 after dropping a close game one, 2-1.
"Today was a wild ride of emotions," head coach said. "Game one was a heartbreaker losing it at the very end like that. threw another great game for us. Game two we battled and battled and found a way to win. The offense did enough to get the job done, but gave us all he had and went the distance."
Jones had thrown five scoreless innings and held a 1-0 lead in the first game when, in the bottom of the sixth, Miami took advantage of a Toledo error to score two and take a late lead.
