TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo softball team opened its home schedule in style and ran its winning streak to five games with a pair of wins over Oakland on Wednesday at Scott Park. The Rockets defeated the Golden Grizzlies by scores of 1-0 and 2-1 to enact revenge for a loss earlier in the season.
Junior pitchers Heather Webb and Kailey Minarchick combined for 14 strikeouts in 14.0 innings, allowing just one run on six hits. Webb spun a two-hit shutout with a career-high eight strikeouts, while Minarchick fanned six in her complete game performance.
Offensively, only Ashley Rausch had multiple hits on the day.
