Baton Rouge, La.— Toledo ended its LSU Baseball Invitational appearance on a high note, defeating Sacred Heart, 7-2, on Sunday.
Senior made his third start of the season, and he was dealing from the very first pitch. Shutes struck out a career-high 11 batters in six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and walking just one.
Toledo racked up 12 hits, the second-most in a game so far this season. Senior led the way, going 3-for-4. Senior , sophomore , and freshman all tallied two hits apiece, with Boss providing the big hit. His grand slam in the top of the third inning put the Rockets ahead 4-0.
